Henry Lavender A. Culmer (1854-1914) Utah – Although HLA Culmer was primarily a painter of Utah, especially southern Utah, he did venture outside the state to capture some of the beauty of Wyoming and Alaska. He painted both in oil and watercolor. At times, he signed his paintings with his initials HLAC.
