James T. Harwood (1860-1940) Utah and California – Although J. T. Harwood primarily painted in Utah, he did live briefly in California where he spent time with Guy Rose. He spent time in Paris studying and painting early in his artistic career and late in life returned there to paint and live. Many of his works are inspirations from landscapes found in Utah. Harwood is known for his early academic paintings and later impressionist scenes.
